Some things to avoid when making ad copy

In an effort to explain why I found using ALL CAPS in the middle of a sentence annoying, I started looking for materials I can compile so I have supporting data and primer materials for future clients.  I’m sure I’ve been guilty of many typographical sins, but I’m working on it.  Let me know what you think.

I especially like,

Sin #3: Writing your headlines and/or body copy in ALL CAPS. Research has shown that people find reading text that is typeset in all caps extremely difficult to read as well as very annoying, especially body copy written in all caps. If you want maximum readership for your advertisement, do not use all caps for any text, especially body copy.

Not to mention all caps in email especially the word FREE in all caps as it sparks spam triggers.

I also found these handy while researching,
